A gamechanger for Cloud Management

In the latest Knack/Kompas IT special, our CEO Mathias Van Hoorde offers a glimpse into a number of new evolutions and the launch of our Revolutionary Cloud Managemnt Platform – Factor Fifty!

A fresh approach

The Belgian IT sector is in full swing. Companies are struggling with outdated systems, rising (wage) costs, and increasing complexity in multi-cloud environments. CloudSisters, founded in 2023 and part of the Antwerp-based Gumption Group, offers a fresh approach to cloud management. With their cloud management platform, Factor Fifty, they combine decades of expertise with innovative technology to prepare companies for the future.

From Managed Services to Co-Sourcing

According to Mathias Van Hoorde, CEO of CloudSisters, traditional cloud management models are no longer sufficient. “Many companies choose to insource everything, where they manage all IT solutions internally and require their own senior cloud professionals, or to outsource by working with external consultants. We believe in neither of those 2 models and fully embrace co-sourcing. With Factor Fifty, we enable companies to manage most of their cloud infrastructure themselves, with the added assurance of support when needed.”

The platform automates complex processes like FinOps, security, compliance, and infrastructure management. This allows companies to maintain control without relying on external managed service providers. “We don’t want to be a black box,” Van Hoorde explains. “With Factor Fifty, technical teams are empowered to work independently within clear guidelines, without getting slowed down by bureaucratic IT processes.”

Why Factor Fifty?

The platform’s name is no coincidence. The developers found that companies using Factor Fifty can set up cloud architectures up to fifty times faster. This acceleration is crucial, as Belgian companies often face technical debt due to outdated IT systems. “Organizations want to innovate with AI, for example, but their current infrastructure holds them back,” says Van Hoorde. “Factor Fifty helps them quickly and efficiently implement new systems without incurring unwanted costs.”

The platform also addresses rising labor costs and the shortage of specialized IT professionals in Belgium. By automating repetitive tasks, businesses can allocate their scarce IT expertise to strategic projects that add value to the company.

More Than a Technology Company

While technology is central, Van Hoorde emphasizes the importance of people in the digitalization process. “We don’t just offer a platform; we also guide organizations through their transformation. Without proper support and training for employees, you’ll never fully realize the potential of new technology.”

At CloudSisters, they like to look beyond the current challenges. By 2028, the company aims to automate as many aspects of cloud management as possible using AI and machine learning. “Our goal is to provide companies with the tools to operate more resiliently, securely, and cost-effectively,” says Van Hoorde.

With Factor Fifty, CloudSisters sets a new standard in the IT sector. By making complex technology accessible, the platform empowers businesses to shape their own digital future, where control, efficiency, and innovation go hand in hand.
